Musings on sports and other things

Up until a few years ago I didn't really care about sports, oh I had a passing interest in hockey but that was it. And then last year the Vegas Golden Knights came, I'm still not a hard core fan but having said that I do like to watch them and I want to get a jersey, hat and t-shirt.
And now for something completely different: the nature of the universe (I did say...and other things) more and more I've come to believe that the universe is fractal in nature, just like the multiverse is, I think that the only thing that all the universes in the multiverse might have in common is their fractal nature.

Wishful thinking

I just finished rereading Robert Heinlein's Stranger In A Strange Land, and I wish I could live in that world. It would make what happened in FL yesterday less likely, still possible but less likely.

Grandma Betty Pt 1

I'm calling this journal Grandma Betty because it's about my maternal grandmother, who in my family we called Grandma Hinze (it still feels strange calling her Grandma Betty) the Hinze side of the family always called her Grandma Betty, but anyway I'm going to tell some of her story here and maybe a 2nd journal and then I'll be posting some poetry she wrote in the early 1930's , this was put together by my cousin Candice with help from the rest of the Hinze family, so here it is.
Grandma Betty was born in 1909 and passed away in 2004. She was an amazing lady, she learned to drive in her early 20's but didn't get her driver's license until her mid 50's and bought a VW Bug. She went back to collage at 58 and got a Library Science Degree and became a libararian at a local school where she got the nickname Yoda and not only because she was short. I think that between her and my parents is where I got my love of reading.
So this is part 1 and at some point I will post a part 2.
