Literature Text

The thought of summer evenings brings again to me the smell of cool sweet air filtering though the dust of the day. I hear again the suppertime and the clatter of the bucket against the side of the well. I remember the voice of Johnny's mother calling him up the hill and Rags' excited bark as he came in the gate. And though it all was the friendly banter around the supper table, where we drank tall glasses of cool milk out of an immense green earthenwere pictcher.
                                                                                    Elizabeth Hinze (aka Grandma Betty)
Grandma Betty wrote some poems between 1924 and 1937, no one in the family knew about them until she gave them to my younger sister before she passed away. I wrote a journal about her, and since I haven't a clue how to link the journal to this you'll just have to look it up yourself, it's the most recent one dated 6/21/17.

How true are those sentiments. Definitely memories to hang onto in writing, and she did well in saving them.
